Rhondda Cynon Taff children are offered 15 hours per week FPN (Foundation Phase Nursery) funded education from the term following their third birthday. Children can access pre-nursery education provision in maintained school settings or in non-maintained childcare settings that have been approved as Registered Education Providers. This includes Dylan’s Den who is a REP (Registered Education Provider) setting.
Pre-nursery education refers to the Spring and Summer terms after a child turns 3 years old, for example children that are born between 1st September and the 31st March each academic year.
The service provides pre nursery education for all eligible children for up to 3 hours per day, 5 days per week for 39 weeks of the year (in line with school terms). The maximum is 15 hours per week. Pre nursery education is delivered to the children through continuous provision in all areas enhanced by resources, activities and meaningful interactions which promote learning through first hand play experiences.
