Thank you!
Dear Parents,
2020 / 2021 was another successful and exciting year for Dylan’s Den despite all the disruption caused by the pandemic.
January 2021 saw the start of a full refurbishment and extension to the building used by Dragon Tots. This was funded by Welsh Government and part of the childcare improvement scheme. Work was completed in record time and we now have fabulous indoor and outdoor areas for all our children and staff to enjoy.
There have been a number of staff changes with Alison Davies finishing in After School Club due to extra work commitments in Treorchy Primary School. Caitlin Wiggins has had a fulltime position in Treorchy Primary and will not return to Dragon Tots in September, however the children will still see her when she covers in after school club and holiday club. Carley Thomas joined our Dragon Tots team before lockdown working a couple of days a week and is now doing a full 5 days. We are currently recruiting staff for Dragon Tots due to us being able to increase our numbers following our refurbishment and extension.
Numbers in all our three settings continue to be high with some waiting lists.
As usual we would like to thank all at Treorchy Primary School for the help and support over the past year. It is much appreciated, especially this year with all the uncertainty Covid brought and the retirement of Mrs Louise Reynolds. We would like to take this opportunity to welcome the new Head – Mrs Emma Anstee and look forward to working with her.
We have received funding and donations from the following organisations over the last year and would like to take this opportunity in thanking them.
Welsh Government, RCT, Pen Y Cymoedd Survival Fund, ASDA,
Pentre Community Shop, Healthy School Scheme & Welsh Church Act Fund.
Finally, Dylan’s Den would like to thank all our parents for their understanding and patience during these difficult times. We hope that 2021/2022 will be far less stressful.
Warmest Wishes,
The Dylan's Den Team
